How to make outfit moodboards (the Polyvore way)

Building an outfit moodboard, or a "set", is part styling and part play. Here is a simple way to make ones that look considered rather than cluttered.

1. Start with a feeling

Pick a vibe before a single piece. Quiet luxury. Soft grunge. A wedding guest in autumn. The theme is the glue that makes a random pile of clothes read as one outfit.

2. Gather your pieces

Choose a hero piece first, then build around it. A coat, a dress, a pair of shoes. Add the supporting cast: bag, jewellery, one unexpected thing.

3. Layer and arrange

Place larger pieces first, smaller accents on top. Leave breathing room. Rotate and resize until it feels balanced rather than centered and stiff.

4. Save it and share it
